Potentia: Do you know the status
of your circuits?

Data Center staff
is challenged with not only tracking how much power is
being used by each device or circuit but where those
loads will switch to following a failure somewhere
within the electrical infrastructure.
Circuit
failures can be costly and can be caused by technicians
simply adding new equipment at a Data Center; the extra
equipment pushing distribution circuit breakers over
their limits or even causing a cascade failure.
Increasingly, another issue for Facilities Managers is
under-utilization. Often power infrastructure is being
under-utilized, resulting in extra costs across the data
center.
Without being certain of where and how
much spare capacity there really is, and how circuits
will be impacted by component failures, the facilities
staff cannot safely and efficiently utilize the Data
Center power.
